Kroombit
Park is nestled in five acres of eucalypt forest
on Lochenbar Cattle Station, 35 klms from Biloela
in Central Queensland, Australia.
This
unique family run nature experience is the product
of Alan and Carol Sandilands dream of sharing with
you, their lifestyle and the natural beauty of their
4000 hectare property, which once included the spectacular
country now protected by the Kroombit Tops National
Park.
Kroombit achievements were awarded recognition
in the 1998 Queensland Tourism Awards.
Kroombit
Park is ideally situated to provide a genuine outback
experience so close to the Great Barrier Reef.
Situated
in the heart of Capricorn Rural hinterland, only
two hours drive south of Rockhampton and one and
three quarter hours west of Gladstone (off the coast
from Heron Island).
Kroombit Park can be accessed by car, by coach and
by air. The roads are in good condition
and comfortable driving for those towing caravans
or trailers.
Are
you visiting Fraser Island? Kroombit Park
provides a welcome interlude on the journey north.
Access is on the Capricorn loop of Bruce Highway.
Kroombit
also provides a half way haven for these travelling
the beautiful scenic inland Highway 17 between the
Sunshine Coast and the Whitsunday's.
Travelling
West? Kroombit can provide just the stop for you
before going onto Carnarvon, Roma or Longreach.
Kynock Coaches (booked through Greyhound Coaches) runs from Brisbane to Biloela and
also provides a service from Rockhampton to Biloela.
An
air service is available from Brisbane to Thangool
